WOODEND GALLERY

There are three stunning exhibition spaces at Woodend including the enormous conservatory built for Louisa Sitwell in 1870. Admission is free and we work with a variety of regional and national partners to deliver an exciting annual exhibition programme.

Woodend is very much a selling gallery. We are a member of the Own Art Scheme so art and craft work can be purchased in 10 interest free monthly instalments. We retail work by over 50 artists and our selection of artist made greeting cards is extensive.

WOODEND LIVE

When Louisa Sitwell built her conservatory, little did she know that the acoustics would be perfect for music and drama! Today Woodend has established a reputation as a superb venue for live music, play readings and open mic nights, attracting performers from around the World.

Depending on the staging required, we can accommodate audiences of up to 75 and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Woodend is a fully licenced venue.

WOODEND LEARNING

People come to Woodend to be entertained, to socialise, but also the learn. We recognise that Woodend has an important role to play as an educator in Scarborough.  Our lunchtime talk series, featuring the famous Tim Tubbs, is hugely popular. We also work closely with the WEA and we always welcome visits from student and school groups.  We are always looking for new cultural partners to work with. If you have an idea for Woodend Gallery, Woodend Live or Woodend Learning do get in touch, we’re listening.  For more information on our exhibitions and events programme please call: 01723 384 500 or email info@woodendcreative.co.uk
